The German-speaking Rotary Club "Moscow Humboldt" is of the youngest of the over 30,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide, and now unites more than 45 members based in Moscow, hailing from Germany, Austria, Great Britain and Russia. Founded on 24 September 2005, the Club is seeking to support primarily deprived children and senior citizens. A pupils‘ exchange programme between the German town of Remscheid and Jaroslawl was initiated to mark the launch of the Club. Orphanages in Tomilino and Nekrasowo are supported jointly with the parent club “Rotary Club Moscow International“. In collaboration with the Archeological Faculty of Moscow‘s State Lomonossov University orphaned children will be given the opportunity in the summer of 2006 of participating in an historical excavation.
